Description We are in search of a Purchasing Agent to be a part of our manufacturing team located in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania. In this vital role, you will focus on procuring Maintenance, Repair, and Operations, Goods and Services. You will have the opportunity to utilize your analytical skills and procurement knowledge to contribute to our operations. This position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and nurture positive relationships with vendors, addressing regular inquiries.
• Aid in the identification and assessment of potential suppliers.
• Cooperate with suppliers to negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions.
• Generate purchase orders and ensure their accurate processing.
• Monitor order statuses to guarantee timely deliveries.
• Assist in the regulation of inventory control activities.
• Work jointly with teams to comprehend usage patterns and aid in forecasting efforts.
• Support the examination of market conditions and pricing trends.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing costs without quality compromise.
• Help in meeting cost reduction targets set by the senior procurement team.
• Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to company policies and regulations.
• Aid in the preparation of reports on supplier performance, purchasing trends, and savings.
• Collaborate closely with the senior procurement team and other departments such as maintenance and operations. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Candidates should be comfortable with creating spreadsheets, performing complex calculations, and creating visual data representations.
• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites is essential for this role. Candidates should be able to seamlessly navigate Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, in addition to Excel.
• Experience with Pivot Table is a must. Candidates should be comfortable with summarizing, sorting, reorganizing, and extracting significant insights from a dataset in Excel.
• Proven experience with Purchase Orders is necessary. Candidates should understand the process of creating, reviewing, and tracking purchase orders.
• Exceptional customer service skills are required. Candidates should have a detail-oriented demeanor, with the ability to resolve issues and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
