Our Advanced Pump Design and Manufacturing facility in Leeds is seeking a skilled Factored Goods Buyer to strengthen our procurement team and help us uphold our legacy of excellence.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
Manage the procurement of factored goods for OEM pump manufacturing, including seals, gaskets, bearings, impellers, casings, motor drives, valves, piping, filters, sensors, and more.
Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to meet our strict OEM manufacturing standards.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure cost savings while upholding quality.
Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement strategies with manufacturing needs.
Monitor supplier performance based on delivery times, quality, and compliance, and take corrective action as necessary.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to drive efficiency and optimise procurement processes.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Previous procurement experience within an OEM manufacturing environment, especially with factored goods (preferred but not essential).
A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supplier markets.
Proven negotiation skills and experience in sourcing and contract management.
The ability to interpret technical specifications and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Professional qualifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) are advantageous.
A pragmatic focus on continuous improvement and cost reduction.
