New Hampshire Hospital - Concord, NH
The Department of Psychiatry at Dartmouth Health and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth is seeking a licensed, doctoral level Psychologist with strong clinical, and teaching interests to join our faculty and serve patients at New Hampshire Hospital, our affiliated state psychiatric facility located in Concord, New Hampshire.
In this role, you would be a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team, providing psychological services to people with severe mental health illnesses in an inpatient setting. Services include diagnostic evaluations, suicide risk assessments, psychological interventions, and clinical supervision.
Responsibilities include:
Administer and analyze psychological test batteries and clinical assessments with acute psychiatric inpatients in a timely fashion, including cognitive, personality and psychiatric assessments
Provide expert clinical consultation and treatment recommendations to multidisciplinary teams that include psychiatrists, APRNS, residents, nurses, guardians, aftercare agencies, and other medical providers
Determine and provide psychological interventions including crisis assessment and management, individual therapy, group therapy, and behavioral interventions
Provide clinical supervision of doctoral level psychology interns and graduate students
Consult with treatment teams about management of patients with challenging behaviors, such as self-harm or aggression
Complete timely progress notes, documentation treatment plan objectives and interventions, and other documentation
Contribute to the educational mission of the hospital by leading case discussions and presentations
Attend and contribute to educational activities led by colleagues
Develop or collaborate on research projects

New Hampshire Hospital has a long tradition of providing excellent care to people who develop mental illnesses. We provide acute, inpatient psychiatric services for adults and the elderly who need active treatment and other essential supports within a continuum of community-based care. Specialized diagnostic and therapeutic services are provided for 2000 patients each year, keeping our 168 beds full. Half of hospital patients are discharged within ten days. Approximately 600 staff includes board certified psychiatrists, general medical services, specialized nursing, allied clinical, administrative and support personnel. Responsibilities
Qualifications
Completion of a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program.
Completion of a predoctoral internship from an APA- or CPA-accredited internship program.
Completion of a postdoctoral fellowship program.
Required Licensure/Certifications
Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the state of New Hampshire.
