Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Therapist to join our team to work part or full-time. The therapist will provide direct mental health services to students within the school setting, helping them address emotional, behavioral, and social challenges that impact their academic success and overall well-being. This position is a vital part of the school community, working collaboratively with educators, families, and administrators to foster a supportive environment for all students. We are l ooking for applicants who are creative, passionate, and fun to engage persons with diverse backgrounds.
Currently, open position(s) exist in Boone County.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Provide individual and family therapy to students, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, and peer relationships.
· Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
· Respond to crises and provide interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards within an electronic health record.
· Participate in team meetings and case consultations to discuss student progress and interventions.
· Collaborate and regularly communicate with teachers, counselors, and school administrators to identify and address student needs.
· Stay current with best practices in school-based therapy and mental health services.
· Primarily work with students during the school day in the classroom or school office; before/after school and early evening hours will also be utilized to support students and families either at school or in the student’s home.
· Serve as a liaison between schools, families, and community resources to connect students and families with additional support services.
· Schedule and location of services may vary during school break times to accommodate students and families.
· Promote a positive, inclusive environment that fosters student growth and well-being.
Education and Experience:
· Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field. Candidates must have master's degrees that are licensable in the state of Indiana.
· Licensure status: must have a temporary or associate license (LSW, LMHCA, LMFTA), or a Clinical License (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT)
· Ability to manage a caseload effectively while maintaining compliance standards
· Possess an understanding of childhood development, trauma-informed care, and behavioral interventions.
