Sunlighten Mechanical Engineer in Leawood, Kansas

We are seeking a talented and multidisciplinary Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art headquarters in Leawood, KS.
Our Mechanical Engineer will play a vital role in supporting our Customer Care team while contributing to the development of new products and engineering processes. This position requires a versatile engineering professional with expertise in mechanical systems, electrical design, and multidisciplinary engineering practices. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in establishing a center of engineering excellence at Sunlighten’s headquarters.
- Customer Care Support:
Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance to the Customer Care team to resolve product-related issues efficiently and effectively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and address customer concerns, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and support materials to aid in resolving customer inquiries.
- Engineering Process Development:
Assist in the creation and implementation of engineering and product development processes to establish a center of excellence at the headquarters location.
Develop best practices for documentation, testing, and project management to enhance engineering efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintain library of all CAD documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives to refine product development workflows and enhance quality assurance protocols.
- New Product Development and Testing:
Participate in the design, prototyping, and testing of new infrared sauna and wellness technology products.
Collaborate with the product development team to ensure products meet performance, safety, and quality standards.
Conduct engineering analysis, heat flow simulations, material stress simulations, and validation testing to optimize product designs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
3+ years of experience in a multidisciplinary engineering role, including exposure to electrical design and components.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools.
Familiarity with electrical systems and their integration into mechanical designs.
Knowledge of product development processes, including prototyping and testing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
