Summary This National Guard position is for a MATERIALS HANDLER, Position Description Number D0903000 and is part of the NJ USPFO, National Guard. Its primary purpose is to oversee one or more product lines, a segment of a large warehouse, or serve as the senior employee in a smaller warehouse or supply facility. Responsibilities As a MATERIALS HANDLER, WG-6907-6, you will: Develop plans for storage and arrangement of stock Ensure the safe receipt, storage, and movement of hazardous items Perform quality assurance inspections of materials in storage Prepare a variety of supply documents and reports Determine physical condition and serviceability of material and property Route items to maintenance activity for technical inspections Requirements Conditions of Employment Additional Employment Requirements: -Participation in direct deposit is mandatory -May be required to successfully complete a probationary period -Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation -Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Area of Consideration: CAT 3: All New Jersey Army National Guard members. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, Education, or Training in the following; Comparing item identification against receiving reports Issuing request forms Using hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock Using hammers, pliers, and other hand tools Following oral and written instructions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 9 months of Experience, Education or Training in the following; Receiving, packaging, and preparation for shipment Compiling reports Warehouse planning, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques Setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc Education EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS None Additional Information Security Clearance Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
