35% - High School Engagement
Continually reviews and analyzes data and results to determine K-12 students/schools, fairs and events to attend/visit in support of the School of Engineering's strategic growth plan. This recruitment strategy will include a timeline for follow-up with targeted communities and/or students, parents, etc. through various communications. Develops and administers a comprehensive communications plan utilizing Slate or other appropriate CRM software, including long-term and ad hoc communications efforts. Longitudinal and current year data and enrollment management tools will be used to identify, qualify (determine potential to enroll), and target students who will assist the School of Engineering in meeting desired enrollment goals.
Build connections with Kansas and area high school teachers, facilitators, and counselors with the aim of helping students explore the field of engineering; this will include visiting schools, and/or inviting groups to and hosting them on campus.
30% - Recruitment and Recruitment Strategy
Plans, develops, executes and analyzes all off-campus recruitment programs and events for prospective engineering students and their families. Develops relationships with high school guidance personnel and faculty, and with alumni in targeted areas. Works extensively with the recruitment team to encourage students to visit campus. Assists in organizing specific visit programs for individual groups or high school programs. Coordinates select outreach programs on campus.
Organize prospective student mailings and promotional recruitment items.
Consults with the Associate Dean regarding recruitment strategies on topics including, but not limited to, programs, recruitment strategies, publications, and presentations. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Dean.
In conjunction with the other recruitment staff members, coordinate email campaigns for the recruitment cycle. This can include, but is not limited to, visit campaigns, exploring academic interest areas campaign, and in-state scholarship campaign. This coordination includes coordinating with Admissions to create live queries for admit letters and emails, and “become admissible” emails.
Facilitate, coordinate, and participate in Office of Admissions events, including but not limited to Rock Chalk Receptions, Counselor Events, and a selection of KACRAO events.
30% - On-Campus Events
In collaboration with the recruitment team, assists with on-campus recruitment programs and events, and visits for prospective engineering students.
Assist as necessary with all aspects of the summer camp programs.
Meet with prospective students to discuss their academic interests and to share and feature relevant academic programs and facilities at the School with those students.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience.
Minimum of 3 months of presentation experience as evidenced by coursework, extra curricular activities, or professional presentations.
Valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
Strong written communication skills as evidenced by application materials.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with high school populations.
Experience in public relations activities, work in university admissions, or recruiting.
Experience in event planning.
Knowledge of engineering.
Experience as a University of Kansas student.
Strong oral communication skills, as evidenced in interview.
Position Overview:
This position will participate broadly in the student recruitment functions of the School of Engineering. Responsibilities will include the development, organization, and coordination of engineering recruitment functions beyond campus; coordination and assistance with selected outreach programs; and participation and collaboration in engineering recruitment events and programs on campus. Significant travel and some evening and weekend work are required. Personal KU experience, engineering specific, and general university knowledge will be used in all areas of recruitment.
