Canadian Tire Filming and Editing Specialist in Laval, Quebec

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Brand and Content Manager, the Filming and Editing Specialist is responsible for creating and effectively communicating the creative vision in the various videos assigned to them. As a video camera operator and editor, you'll use your creativity, attention to detail and skill to elevate our projects and create stories that engage our target audience while showcasing our vast selection of products.

  • Shoot and edit dynamic and engaging promotional videos;

  • Be on location to supervise the filming of required images and facilitate post-production.

  • Operate professional cameras and iPhone or Android cameras with a high level of technical and artistic skill for some projects.

  • Perform editing tasks within established time limits;

  • Perform music research and audio mixing of audiovisual content;

  • Consult with stakeholders throughout the production and post-production process;

  • Work with the team to develop new audiovisual content formats;

  • Monitor internal and external approvals for all content under their responsibility; Oversee the monitoring of internal and external approvals of all content under their responsibility;

  • Monitor the creative process, checking the technical compliance of graphic elements and obtaining the necessary approvals;

  • Plan, produce and coordinate all materials required for in-store displays.

What you bring

  • At least 5 years experience in similar role;

  • Excellent knowledge of the Adobe suite, specifically Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects;

  • Knowledge of Davinci Resolve an asset;

  • Very good knowledge of the post-production process;

  • Bilingualism, French and English, essential (oral and written).

  • Strong ability to communicate with peers and work as part of a team.

  • Creative spirit, ability to film and strong story-telling video editing skills

  • Experience in filming (photo and video) indoors and outdoors (an asset).

  • Understanding of traditional, digital, and social media marketing channels.

  • Experience in the retail sector (an asset).

  • Knowledge of the sports world, fashion and the practice of sports (an asset).
