Department: EPIC
Summary
The Project Director, under the direction of the executive steering committee and the project sponsor, guides the project team through implementation, onward to maintenance all while a deriving long term strategy and vision for the department. The Project Director is the central point of communication, maintaining a common vision, plan, and goal across all areas of the department.
Professional Responsibilities:
Providing organizational knowledge and guidance for the team to facilitate decision-making.
Managing the scope, cost, schedule, and quality of all current and future projects.
Staff management and resource allocation.
Being familiar with all aspects of the implementation, maintenance and long-term options.
Coordinating all project activities, including software and hardware, business- and IT-related tasks, establishing/maintaining a super user program, internal communications and change management, recruiting and engaging super users and subject matter experts.
Making decisions.
Communicating with leaders in the hospital(s), clinics, and billing office(s).
Setting appropriate expectations across the organization in relation to current and future projects.
Building and maintaining morale.
Promoting the system and representing it positively to the user community.
Reviewing the progress of any project regularly with Epic (Wisconsin) and organization leadership.
Coordinating the organization's overall needs and direction with Epic (Wisconsin).
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience leading large teams of individuals and the ability to manage staff effectively.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Past success with large-scale projects.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree, any field.
Healthcare experience, preferred but not required.
Epic experience, preferred but not required.
Project Management certification preferred, project management experience required.
Complete assigned EPIC (WISCONSIN) Certification(s) and/or training within 90 days of employment.
