Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions. Must have Previous Medical Assistant Experience-Medical Assistant Certification Preferred Core Duties: • Demonstrates nursing assistant duties when providing patient care as evidenced by: • Recording and/or reporting to the appropriate nurse any treatments, results, observations, patient complaints, and other pertinent information regarding the condition of patients. • Anticipate needs by checking on patients regularly and answering call lights. • Assisting in maintaining a clean and safe environment for the patients and staff; being responsible for equipment assigned to patient care. • Using supplies appropriately, demonstrating a cost-effective awareness by practicing efficient and non-wasteful use of supplies and linen. • Ensuring patient safety. • Participates in quality measures as indicated by performance dashboard results. • Demonstrates appropriate quantity of work as evidenced by: • Completing all assigned duties. • Accepting additional assignments willingly. • Adapting to change and prioritizing work. • Assisting staff members; willing to stay late in order to finish essential patient care and unit responsibilities. • Demonstrates through work performed a knowledge of policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department as evidenced by: • Completes Health Stream assignments in a timely manner. • Maintaining current unit specific competencies. • Assisting with the orientation of new personnel to the unit. • Seeking and soliciting the help of or guidance from immediate supervisor or appropriate resource person. • Performing duties in an independent manner with little or no direct supervision. • Demonstrates courtesy, respect and compassion when interacting with patients. • Keeps confidential matters confidential by not discussing patients business, personal issues of other employees in inappropriate places or situations. • Respects the dignity of patients and others by: listening responding in a caring matter, initiating follow-up if necessary so the patient will have excellent service. • Documents appropriately in patient chart. • Keeps supervisor informed of any situation that might affect quality of service. • Maintains a lean a safe work environment. • Receive test/lab results and notifies patient promptly and courteously. • Ensures treatment/procedure rooms are properly stocked with supplies and drugs are checked for expiration dates. • Adheres to assigned work schedule. • Assists Physicians with procedures and exams. • Screen telephone calls and messages for the provider, answering questions that can be answered. • Schedule surgeries, outpatient and diagnostic procedures, as ordered by the Physician. • Shows proficiency with EMR systems and adheres to prescribed workflow with EMR. • Assist Physicians with procedures and exams. • Completing prior authorizations and referrals. • Administer injections • Assist in other job duties.
