Job Summary:

South Central Regional Medical Center is looking for an organized, detail-oriented and compassionate individual to join our team as an Employee Health Nurse. The employee health nurse works under the direct supervision of the Infection Control & Employee Health Manager and subsequently reports to the Director of Quality. This position must possess knowledge regarding the responsibilities & requirements of the employee health department. This nurse will play a vital role in ensuring that our employees meet and maintain the ongoing requirements set forth by the organization to help ensure a safe working environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

o Notify director & employee of requirements and follow-up items.

o Maintain complete accurate employee health records.

o Prepare all new hire employee health requirements for orientation.

o Evaluation of hospital personnel health records with the annual health evaluation.

o Initiate and follow up on employee exposures.

o Track and trend TB conversions.

o Assist with fit testing for all designated areas.

o Assist with data reporting for performance improvement & employee exposure reporting.

o Perform urine drug screening on employees as required or requested by administration.

o Travel offsite during influenza vaccination season to administer vaccinations if needed.

o May need to function as a bedside nurse in an emergency.

o Assist with other duties as assigned by the manager or director.

o Adheres to regulatory standards and hospital policy.

o Maintains professional and technical knowledge and pursues professional growth opportunities.

o Serves as a positive role model for new staff.

o Keeps access to protected health information secure and confidential.

o Contributes to a safe, supportive work environment that promotes teamwork.

Education, Experience & Performance Requirements:

· Must have a current LPN license from the Mississippi Board of Nursing

· Previous hospital or clinic nursing experience is preferred.

· Must keep access to protected health information secure & confidential.

· Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word.

· Must have diligence & the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced changing environment.

· Requirements that if not held at time of hire will be required after hire depending on class availability:

A. TB Surveillance & Testing Certification (TBST)

B. DOT Urine Drug Screening certification

C. N95 Respirator Fit Test training

Exposure Classifications: Moderate exposure risk
