We are on the hunt for a Staff Accountant to join a well-established and growing organization in Laurel, Maryland. This role is critical to our operations, as you'll be tasked with managing customer accounts, processing applications, and maintaining accurate records. This position is instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our financial operations. Responsibilities

• Create and issue customer invoices on a weekly and monthly basis

• Examine Accounts Receivable Aging statement for past due accounts and initiate follow-up action

• Handle check deposits, wire transfers, and ACH transactions, including processing credit card receipts

• Post customer payments

• Handle credit requests received via email or phone efficiently and professionally

• Assist with the annual audit by collecting requested supporting documents

• Review AR ledger and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed

• Support month-end process by entering journal entries and preparing account reconciliations

• Use Microsoft Excel

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Familiarity with Billing processes and systems

• Experience in Invoice Processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Knowledge of general accounting principles.
