Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified, collaborative

Director of Financewill lead, manage and be accountable for the operations of the companys finances. To fulfill these responsibilities, you will lead a team of internal and external resources with the diverse skill set needed to perform these functions. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of individual contribution and team leadership which directly contributed to the growth and success of a small business serving the Department of Defense and DoD prime contractors.

Essential Functions

  • Become the resident expert on companys ERP system (CostPoint).
  • Develop or oversee reporting from the system that supports the Senior Management (e.g., monthly F/S), Business Development (e.g., weekly bookings reports), Contracts (e.g., rate information for contract negotiations), Line of Business Leads (e.g., weekly Bookings, Revenue, Gross Margin and Cash waterfall updates), and Program Management (e.g., project financial reports) teams.
  • Maintain the companys government approved accounting and property management systems. Work with government auditors (e.g., DCMA, DCAA) and company support firms (e.g., CPA firm, IT firm) in support of fulfilling this responsibility.
  • Engage with company personnel to identify and assess current and future company capital investments (e.g., manufacturing and testing equipment, IT purchases, lease-hold improvements) and develop a multi-year capital plan. Each fiscal year you will update the capital purchasing plan, recommend financing options, and implement an approved plan.
  • Provide excellent personnel leadership with emphasis on team building and demonstrated interpersonal skills to enable cross-functional teams. Coach, mentor, and provide performance feedback to direct and indirect reports.
  • Ensure new and current employees are properly oriented to current and revised company processes. Work with the Facilities/IT Manager to ensure that new employees have the IT and facilities resources prior to their start and that they are properly enrolled in the companys payroll and benefits systems.

Experience and Skills

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employmen eligibility verification form upon hire.

  • Small business experience.
  • Financial model development for forecasting and reporting.
  • Experience working with contracts, program managers and technical experts.
  • Experience with Costpoint.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR and contracting and pricing principles.
  • Familiarity with distinct types of contracts including CPFF, FFP, TandM, etc. and associated revenue recognition.
  • Experience with updating and processing the Incurred Cost Submission (ICS).
  • Experience leading finance and administrative teams.
  • Verified record of financial analysis and strategic planning within the defense and aerospace industry, showing a positive impact on Company performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple multi-disciplinary pursuits concurrently.
  • Proficient organizational skills: initiative-taking, detail-oriented, enjoy teamwork and excel in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, Word, and advanced Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Occasional travel will be required.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in business or related discipline with 10+ years of Finance and Business Administration experience in the defense industry.
