Starbucks Assistant Manager The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)

Description:

Summary:

Responsible for assisting with the day to day operation and direct supervision of assigned activities within the Starbucks outlet. Oversee overall department and/or shift(s) as assigned. Ensure daily operations and experiences meet guest expectations. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or employee challenges.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling department staff, as assigned

  • Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures and recommend methods to improve efficiency and service

  • Monitor staff to ensure outstanding guest service is being provided at all times and handle any guest concerns or complaints

  • Assist with reviewing and researching room financial reports, including reviewing the monthly profit and loss statements and payroll to ensure monthly budget requirements are achieved

  • Ensure that the outlet remains clean, organized and properly functioning, and that all equipment is properly maintained

  • Ensure health, safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times

  • Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow employees

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 1 year of management experience in a high-volume café or coffee shop preferred

  • Starbucks certified preferred

  • Previous experience managing within a union contract preferred

  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation guidelines

  • Ability to effectively communicate and lead in small groups, as well as on an individual-basis

  • Effective leadership techniques, decision making, and statistical reporting/analysis skills

  • Strong computer skills (experience with Microsoft Word and Excel)

  • Prior experience with Infogenesis systems preferred

  • At least 21 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal

  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company

  • Verify right to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently push and/or pull up to 35 lbs.

  • Frequently lift and/or carry up to 35 lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and/or chest levels

  • Frequently distinguish between shades of color, taste, and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity

  • Constant use of hearing and vision, walking, and standing
