The Salvation Army Las Vegas Family Services is looking to fill a Case Manager - Continuum of Care position. The successful candidate for this position will have a knowledge of community resources in the Clark County area, an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and be detail oriented with an ability to multitask. This position is benefit eligible and comes with vacation, sick, health, vision, life insurance, free membership and more.

The Case Manager will conduct assessments and comprehensive case management with potential program participants. They will develop individualized Housing and Service Plans as well as developing and maintaining files related to programs. This position will be responsible for finding temporary housing opportunities for eligible participants and identify permanent housing options for the program. This employee will determine and recommend the level of financial assistance, provide case management services and prepare requests for financial assistance for eligible participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related discipline or;

  • Four years’ experience working with clients in crisis and the strong ability to effectively resolve and cope with immediate crisis situations.

  • Knowledge of community resources, particularly housing for low-income individuals, available in the Clark County service area.

  • Excellent knowledge of and ability to use current Microsoft software computer programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, as well as e-mail, Adobe Acrobat and the internet

  • Excellent interpersonal, telephone and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent detail, organization and file management skills

  • Demonstrated dependability, maturity, and initiative; must be able to maintain program/guest/agency confidentiality and treat each individual with dignity and respect. Ability to work alone and as a part of a team.

  • Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule, address multiple projects in a timely manner and take projects from beginning through completion

  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances

  • Knowledge of the Homeless Management Information System.

  • Bilingual is preferred.

  • Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check.

  • Reliable transportation.

  • Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
