Job Summary
The Vascular Technologist Lead will use their expertise in vascular technology to guide and improve the team's efforts in enhancing vascular diagnostic services, focusing on conducting non-invasive vascular studies, including ultrasounds. This role involves providing technical leadership, managing projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to boost the efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of vascular ultrasound services. Additionally, the lead will mentor junior staff, oversee quality assurance processes, and stay updated with the latest advancements in vascular ultrasound technologies to ensure the services provided are of the highest quality, leading to the best patient outcomes.
Essential Functions
Leads or coordinates shift operations of assigned activities, resources, and/or associates.
Serves as a technical or functional resource and performs similar duties with staff.
Assigns, monitors and reviews progress of work. Monitors and reports compliance with policies and/or procedures
Oversees and evaluates orientation and training of assigned associates. May provide input in the review and evaluation of staff performance.
Coordinates, monitors and trains, and serves as a technical resource.
Provides technical and data support as need for daily operations.
Respond to, provide support for, and appropriately assist with emergent, urgent situations.
Works independently within scope of practice to achieve clinical outcomes while executing delegation protocols.
Maintains a level of professional development through continued education, quality improvement initiatives, obtaining and sharing departmental/organizational inforamation and knowledge.
Serves as a mentor and resource to others
Implements safe, competent, and efficient patient care within policies, procedures, and standards.
Provides care in an ethical, patient, family centered, culturally congruent and evidenced base manner.
Provides expertise in decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution and lab operations.
Serves as a point of contact and resource for hospital and clinical personnel at imaging locations.
Supports training, education, and process and quality assurance program oversight in the assigned area of focus.
Collaborates with other team leads to support the overall quality of the imaging lab.
Supports compliance and standards being met as directed by the Vascular Accrediting bodies (as applicable)
Provides input for hiring and performance evaluations.
Supports arranging for services to occur on equipment.
Develops and maintains protocols, updating as needed in focused area
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Associate Degree Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required or
Associate Degree Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program required
1-3 years Clinical experience in vascular ultrasound required
1-3 years Prior supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Licenses and Certifications
(S) - ARDMS or ARRT - Sonography Registry in VS required or
ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registry in RVT required or
CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing Internation Registry in RVS required and
BCLS - Basic Life Support required
