Americorps Program Supervisor

Families and Youth. Inc. Youth is hiring a full-time Program Supervisor for the Americorps Program

The AmeriCorps Program Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the program members and program assistance. The Supervisor maintains oversight of the program operations to ensure the day-to-day delivery of community care and build relationships and coordinate efforts with community stakeholders, FYI Agency staff, collaborating organizations, and donors. This includes providing leadership, supervision, and assistance in the oversight of assigned projects, initiatives, and supplemental contracts/services, as well as, daily program operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and coordinate efforts with community stakeholders, FYI Agency staff, collaborating organizations, and donors
  • Meet with Las Cruces Public School staff to organize and set up School Support and Safe After School programs and address concerns/issues as they arise
  • Identify, define, and develop funding sources to support ongoing revenue stream of the program; research alternative funding opportunities; prepare grant proposals; provide on-going grant management; monitor program budgets
  • Maintain required training in the 7 areas of competency, as outlined by CYFD Out-of-School-Time Licensing Regulation (8.16.2.42)
  • Ensure program compliance with all state regulations for CYFD Out-of-School-Time Licensing as required by NM Regulations (8.15.2.1-25 NMAC and 8.16.2.40-47 NMAC)
  • Ensure appropriate decision-making protocols are followed with an understanding of organizational policies and procedures
  • Maintain and update AmeriCorps online recruitment sites, screen, interview, and hire applicants for AmeriCorps positions
  • Supervise and oversee program Site Supervisor and AmeriCorps Members in achieving daily service and requirements
  • Ensure program and member compliance with all CNCS and NMCCV policies and procedures
  • Ensure members' successful completion service year (i.e., complete all service hours, earn ED Award, etc.)
  • Review and approve member Timesheets, Community Service Logs, Leave Requests, and Travel Expense forms
  • Prepare, complete and submit all CNCS, NMCCV, and FYI forms and reports in a timely manner

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, or a Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) or comparable years of experience working with the populations
  • Must maintain a full certification of the following trainings; CPR/First Aid and CPI
  • Must maintain a valid NM Driver's Licenses.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Meet specified deadlines and manages time effectively
  • Exhibit skills in comprehending, interpreting, and completing delegated tasks efficiently
  • Self-starter; must have the ability to work independently and follow-up on all work assignments
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work under pressure without losing sight of objectives
  • Minimum of 2 years in a school aged child care growth and development setting
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisor experience
