Job Description:
The Control Analyst is responsible for a broad range of responsibilities that include, but are not limited to risk mediation, reporting, process enhancement, procedure administration, project management, and administration for Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Reconciliation and Auditing function on various JH Life, LTC, and Annuity accounts
Analysis and investigation to resolve outstanding variances or issues
Maintain traceability of research and provide detailed monthly analysis of outstanding balances
Ensure suspense balances are maintained within corporate standards for each account
Work with various staff in operation areas to identify discrepancies and clear items in a timely manner
Preparation of journal entries as needed to resolve discrepancies
Escalation of any variances and open items in suspense accounts and other reconciliation tasks
Perform reconciliations as per the frequency required
Maintain procedures and documentation as directed
Ad-hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 2 -3 years experience in financial or general accounting field or otherwise relevant business operations experience
Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) Amenability to work in U.P. Ayala Land Technohub, Quezon City OR Mactan Newtown, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu and must be willing to report on a night shift schedule
Skills to Hire/Nice to Haves:
Strong PC skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot, VLook up); big plus if knowledgeable with PowerBI, Alteryx, Infor, Smartview
Analytical thinker that can function independently as well as part of a team
Ability to effectively communicate and manage expectations and shifting priorities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and solve complex transactions/situations
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Attention to detail and accuracy are critical in completing tasks
Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a deadline-oriented environment
Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly and work effectively in a changing environment
General accounting principles
Comprehensive product knowledge is a plus
