Community Health Systems Service/Admin Coord in Laporte, Indiana

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director/Manager, the Service/Administrative Coordinator performs administrative, secretarial, and clerical functions for the department. Must be able to meet deadlines, work on several projects at once, and understand all of the concepts involved in the work performed. Supports the operations of the department and associated services. Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, providers and staff in the course of daily functions.

Essential Functions

  • Handles phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries from patients, families, staff, and other stakeholders.

  • Assists with the preparation and processing of departmental forms, documents, and patient information.

  • Assists in collecting information, preparing, and distributing agendas for committee meetings related to assigned areas of responsibility. May also take and transcribe meeting minutes as directed by the department.

  • Provides excellent customer service to patients, families, providers, and staff by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive experience.

  • Directs patients and visitors to appropriate personnel or services within the department.

  • Supports department initiatives and staff to organize and coordinate meetings, projects, and regulatory readiness tasks.

  • Maintains office supplies, equipment, and manage inventory as necessary for department functions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required

  • Associate Degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred

  • 0-2 years of experience in an administrative, secretarial, or clerical role, preferably in a healthcare or patient services environment. required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and healthcare management software.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to manage patient interactions professionally.
