Operations Project Manager

We are looking for an Operations Project Manager to join our Lansing, NY team!

As our Operations Project Manager you will lead and direct the daily activities of the Mechanical and Nonmetallic Departments to meet customer needs and expectation for testing and evaluations. You will perform independent work, guide the work of others, provide technical leadership, work with management, and interact with customers. You will also need to maintain a high degree of knowledge and proficiency in material science and serve as the resident expert in the area.

This is a role for an individual looking for a service oriented work environment where they can solve customer and internal problems to ensure product is released on time.

Location: Lansing, NY

Salary: $90,000-$100,000

Your Challenge

  • Perform technical analyses in the Non-metallics and Mechanical department

  • Organize projects for standardized testing and develop techniques for special projects

  • Prepare quotes, review and distribute incoming jobs, and assure work completion in a high quality and timely manner

  • Inform the Business Unit Manager in a timely manner of administrative and technical activities, status of projects, problem areas and corrective actions

  • Train, manage, and develop others, review work and reports, and prepare performance reviews

  • Responsible for lab appearance, safety, and maintenance

  • Exhibit and maintain a high level of engineering skills

  • Recommend and justify the procurement of capital equipment to maintain an appropriate level of competence in current and advanced mechanical and nonmetallic materials technology

  • Review reports to ensure quality

What You Bring

  • Technical skillset – engineering or testing background

  • 5-7 years in management

  • Be able to manage multiple priorities

  • Project management skills and being able to work under pressure
