Job Description

This position will serve as a victim advocate for the Victim Rights Victim Services Division and will assist victims identified

as part of a departmental criminal case from the pre-charging stage all the way through post-conviction appeals, most

importantly by serving as the liaison between the Assistant Attorneys General (attorneys) assigned to their case and

serving as the main contact person for the Department for the victims, answering questions and concerns that the victims

may have, advising the victims issues arising in the case, coordinating court appearances, arrange transportation, and

otherwise assisting in the investigation and prosecution of these cases in a victim-centered manner. This position will

primarily work with victims in the Assistance with Convictions and Expungement Division which includes the Conviction

Integrity Unit, Wrongful Imprisonment Compensation Act, Job Court, and Expungements. The primary workload will

include CIU cases where the unit is investigating whether there is new evidence that the convicted person is factually

innocent.

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
