Our client is in need of a resource to join their storage and backup team under the Storage and Monitoring manager. When fully staffed, they have a team of 3 specifically aligned to storage and backup and recently lost one team member to a different opportunity. This manager's organization is comprised of 13 folks who broken up into 3 sub groups: middleware/WebLogic, storage/backup, Microsoft office; this specific role is for Storage and backup. Ideally, they would like to see someone with experience with Rubric and/or Avomar but would be open to candidates with similar experience. From a day to day basis, the infrastructure space constantly has projects and initiatives popping up; currently, no specific projects are on the docket, so the day to day will involve looking at reports, seeing if things failed why they failed, if we need to renew a backup, taking tickets, etc. Initially, there will be no on call, but eventually this person would join the rotating on call schedule with the rest of the team.

Job Description:

We are focusing in the area around backups and storage. Rubrik and/or Avamar experience would be great.

No middleware or email/messaging is needed for this role. DevOps background would be nice to have, but not necessary.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting enterprise storage and backup platform/systems.

• Primary administrator and level 1 and 2 approver for all Application Support Services change management functions, including back-end application support, configuration tuning and optimization, and scripting.

• Analyzes deep transaction tracing, synthetic monitoring, real user monitoring, and network monitoring to assist with recommendations, incident response, and problem resolution.

• First responder to all incidents involving supported applications.

• Assists with the collection and analysis of performance monitoring involving supported applications.

• Creates, updates, and maintains department work instructions.

• Performs technical Proof of Concepts (POCs) for new tools and services.

• Participates in department projects.

• Researches technical issues and provides recommendations for resolution and process improvements.

Minimum Requirements:

Position requires working knowledge of enterprise backup and storage.

Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems using independent judgment while communicating effectively with internal and external customers.
