Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm (1-hour lunch break)

Location: Lansing, MI (initially on-site, with potential for home visits post-training)

Training: Hands-on training with management for approximately one month. Training includes learning medical equipment and the computer system.

Responsibilities:

• Patient Interaction:

• Work with Respiratory Department Staff and Program Managers to provide instruction, service, and troubleshooting techniques for respiratory equipment to patients.

• Educate and teach patients and caregivers on the use and care of respiratory equipment.

• Set up equipment, explain its use to patients, and discuss financial responsibilities.

• Documentation:

• Complete all company, insurance, and/or government-provided paperwork timely and accurately. This includes delivery tickets, safety checklist forms, patient booklet receipts, and equipment-specific instruction/cleaning forms.

• Equipment Handling:

• Manage and maintain respiratory equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, Oxygen, and Nebulizers.

• Customer Service:

• Serve as a Customer Service Specialist at the store location when not on-site with patients.

• Learn and understand the entire front-end process to ensure successful service for patients.

• Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls, handle emails.

• Obtain, analyze, and verify the accuracy of information received from referrals, create orders, and schedule patients to receive equipment as ordered by their doctor.

• Process orders, route calls to the appropriate resources, and follow up on customer calls as necessary.

On-Call Duties (Potential Future Responsibility):

• Participate in a rotation sign-up sheet for on-call availability.

• Work remotely during on-call days, logging hours for phone interactions with customers.

• Receive hourly wage for logged hours and a stipend even if no calls are received.

• Ensure a private area with computer and Wi-Fi access due to the confidential nature of the information discussed.

Skills Required:

• Customer service and support

• Troubleshooting and technical support

• Knowledge of medical technology and terminology

• Medical assisting and clinical care

• Understanding of insurance policies and HIPAA laws

• Medical insurance billing

• Help desk support and call center experience

• Proficiency with Windows and desktop applications

• Customer service-oriented mindset

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
