Lansing Board of Water & Light Journey Electrician in Lansing, Michigan
The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) has one opening for an Electrician, in Lansing, MI, as part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO, Local Union 352.
Pay Rate: $52.45
Position Summary: Responsible for installation and maintenance of a wide variety of components associated with power distribution, substations, and general electrical maintenance at all BWL production facilities including but not limited to: REO Town, Delta Energy Park, Erickson Station, Dye Water, Wise Road facilities and all substations.
Essential Functions:
- Must have or acquire the ability to install and maintain breakers, transformers, switches, tap changers, on 138KV, and on potentially energized voltages of 13.2KV 480-V and lighting systems.
- Installs and repairs electric motors and controls. Installs electric conduit and cable.
- Installs and maintains DC battery system.
- Works on computer equipment installations.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Required to follow BWL Safety Manual and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Must attend training for safety awareness or skills improvement as required by supervisor, BWL or governmental agency such as MIOSHA.
- Must be able to respond to code calls or other emergencies within the production facility.
- Performs other duties as required or necessitated by job responsibilities
