Lansing Community College seeks a professional welder to teach courses in the Welding Technology Program. The qualified individual will be able to teach SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, plasma and oxy/fuel cutting processes, and have knowledge of Metallurgy as it relates to Welding, utilizing excellent communication and computer skills. The successful applicant will share responsibilities with other full-time faculty for the organization and function of the Welding Technology Program. The faculty member will participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees, with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. They will also participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and actively participate in College initiatives. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy. Teaching assignments may include daytime and/or evening hours.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
