Robert Half Financial Accountant in Lansing, Michigan

Description

Our Robert Half client is seeking an Accountant to join their team in the construction/contractor industry. This is a direct hire, full-time role based in Lansing, Michigan, with a hybrid work schedule, untracked PTO (take what you need when you need it), and an award-winning culture that their employees describe as being "second to none". You will be responsible for report generation/analysis, reviewing project profitability, conducting balance sheet reviews, budget preparation, project accounting, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Generate and analyze financial reports

• Conduct project profitability reviews to ensure financial efficiency

• Review balance sheets to maintain financial accuracy

• Process communications with Operations team members on project sites

• Supervise tracking for employee expenditures and reimbursements

• Prepare budgets for financial planning and management

• Handle project/joint venture accounting from initiation to completion

• Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures

• Analyze current business needs and utilize eCMS software to its full potential

• Proficiently manage 3rd party software and data migration to ERP systems

• Adapt to new applications as they arise within the job function.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction/contractor industry

• Proficiency in General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge in Balance Sheet Reviews

• Ability to Prepare Budgets accurately and efficiently

• Experience in Construction Projects Accounting

• Proficiency in Expense Reconciliation

• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Knowledge of accounting software and databases

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
