Job Purpose
The Facility Security "Flex" Officer is responsible for maintaining an overall safe and secure environment for customers and associates by providing access control to key entrance locations, patrolling and monitoring premises, responding to security breaches, emergencies, incidents, and providing initial first aid medical assistance to associates, visitors, or others as needed.The Facility Security "Flex" Officer works a flexible schedule in order to cover vacant shifts of Officers who are on vacation, have days off, or who are unable to report for their shift.
Essential Responsibilities
Secures premises and protects company personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, permitting or denying entry.
Secures perimeter entrances by performing periodic, recurring patrols of interior and exterior company facilities, monitoring and reporting security or safety incidents and anomalies, breaches, etc.
Monitors and controls access at facility entrances and provides assistance to associates, guests, contractors, etc.
Serves as a first responder to medical incidents providing basic first aid and assistance until emergency services personnel arrive.
Ensures compliance to corporate safety and security policies and procedures.
Works a flexible schedule.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the security field, including familiarity with policies and practices related to physical security, guard force operations, emergency and incident planning and response, loss and incident reporting, and risk and threat assessment/analysis.
Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to adapt to changing situations.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as to work as part of a team.
Ability to prepare and deliver clear, succinct, and audience-appropriate written and oral reports for presentation up to the highest level in the corporation.
Commitment to integrity and industry best practices.
Ability to respond 24 hours per day and work flexible shifts as needed.
Ability to effectively communicate technical issues, both verbally and in writing.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Ability to perform the functions of the position (climb multiple flights of stairs in an emergency, standing and/or walking for long periods of time, etc.).
Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
1+ years experience in a similar role within the public or private sector, serving in a physical security or access control capacity required.
Current State Security License (if required), at date of hire or within 90 days of hire required.
