The Opportunity

As a leader in digital financial services, our customer and employee experiences run on data. As an audit function, we’re increasingly looking for ways to leverage data, analytics, and, more recently, AI to drive efficiencies and create new insights for our varied stakeholders, and the Audit Data Analytics and Automation (DAA) team is central to this effort. The DAA Team is responsible for data identification, data extraction, data processing, and analytics (primarily descriptive, moving toward diagnostic, predictive & prescriptive) in support of conclusions on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management, and shaping Audit’s broader DAA program. We’re also responsible for helping drive Audit’s strategy for using AI in support of our mission.

We’re looking for an innovative, solutions-oriented, and passionate Director - Audit Analytics to proactively lead the advancement of DAA’s multi-year plans and methodology. This person will report to the Senior Leader of DAA and collaborate with the broader Audit Leadership Team to execute on and expand our DAA Program with the goal of increasing impact, efficiency, and effectiveness of the function, notably leading efforts to design strategy and solutions for using AI in audit.

The Work Itself

In this role, you’ll help take our Audit Analytics team to the next level through: * Leadership in the continued development and execution of the Audit’s DAA Program with a focus on AI, data & technology, advanced analytics, and continuous auditing & monitoring initiatives. * Leadership in guiding Audit’s data, analytics, and AI technology adoption, implementation, and sustain strategies & processes including data stewardship and governance. * Effectively lead, in concert with the broader audit team and support from DAA analysts, the development and implementation of risk assessment and continuous auditing / monitoring data analytic use cases. * Executing with excellence on a day-to-day basis by supporting aligned Analysts on audits and other projects, including providing input on scope, planning, fieldwork, and reporting. * Guidance to the broader audit team in identifying new opportunities for leveraging data analytics in audit projects. * Oversight of the quality of data analytics deliverables according to established audit documentation standards and providing input on ways to improve documentation best practices. * Manages and directs a team of analysts in providing support on audits, analytics engagements, prioritization, and professional & personal development. * Effective communication and relationship management with various internal and external stakeholders including Technology partners and Ally’s broader data & analytics community.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Accounting, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics). Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of proven experience in financial services, auditing, and/or relevant data analytics experience.
  • Experience and expertise with relevant analytics and automation tools including, but not limited to, ACL Analytics, PowerBI, Power Automate, and Excel.
  • Experience with industry tools and programming languages (i.e., SQL, SAS, Python, R, AWS Analytics).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms a plus (Snowflake).

  • Relevant certifications (CIA, CISA, CPA) a plus.

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required, SharePoint preferred)
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills used to influence departmental strategies and direction.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve more complex problems.
  • Familiarity with agile development and project management practices & tools (Jira)
  • Interest in and exposure to emerging GenAI technologies and practices
  • Strong and proven ability to understand audit, risk, and control concepts and teaches concepts to team members and broader department.
  • Firm understanding and experience with data management concepts.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed, proactive, and organized.
  • Limited travel may be required.

Base Pay Range:

Emerging: 125000

Experienced: 157500

Expert: 190000

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan
