Practice Description

In today's fast-evolving cybersecurity landscape, businesses across all sectors rely on us to provide reliable solutions to their increasingly intricate risks and vulnerabilities. As part of our Cybersecurity Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in achieving this objective. You will assist our clients in understanding and contextualizing their cybersecurity threats, as well as in evaluating, enhancing, and developing their security operations to counter these threats effectively. Leveraging both your technical expertise and consulting skills, you will contribute significantly to our mission, making a global impact on cybersecurity.

In the role of a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer, you will provide critical infrastructure support, ensuring the security and functionality of both on-premises and cloud environments. Together, our professionals engage in a collaborative process to strategize, execute, and oversee projects aimed at evaluating, enhancing, and managing our clients' comprehensive security operations. This teamwork ensures the provision of advanced, integrated security solutions tailored to our clients' specific needs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide infrastructure support by managing SNOW tickets for patching on-premises and cloud servers.

  • Update applications running on servers and configure/deploy Zscaler app connectors.

  • Support ongoing cloud infrastructure modifications and develop/deploy Terraform templates.

  • Deploy CI/CD pipelines and automate processes to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver security solutions that meet business needs.

  • Monitor project progress, manage potential risks, and keep key stakeholders updated on progress and expected outcomes.

  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with client personnel, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.

  • Demonstrate technical expertise and professional knowledge while adapting to emerging technologies in cybersecurity.

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in cybersecurity and broader industry knowledge.

To Qualify for the Role You Must Have

  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of related work experience, or a Master’s degree and approximately 3 years of related work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related major.

  • General knowledge and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure.

  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server environments.

  • Experience with PowerShell, scripting, and automation using Python.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and vulnerability management.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • 2+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure support and management.

  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) deployments.

  • Knowledge of application security and compliance frameworks.

  • Prior consulting experience in a cybersecurity context.

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are desired.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $73,100 to $132,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $87,600 to $151,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
