The Lansing Board of Water & Light has two openings for Auxiliary Gas Plant Chiller Operators in Lansing, MI.
*Min Pay Rate: *$46.08 *Max Pay Rate: *$48.14
Position Summary: Responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient operation of the REO Town Cogeneration Power Station and the Peffley Chilled Water Plant. Assists with training of other operators.
Essential Functions:
- Performs the required activities of the REO Town Cogeneration Power Station and the Peffley Chilled Water plant, including:
- Fire pump tests and checks
- Fire extinguisher checks
- Chemical Deliveries
- Readings
- Clearances
- Permissive Bypasses
- Fork Truck Operation
- Qualified Manlift and Scissor Lift Operator
- Confined Space Qualified
- PIPP / SPCC
- Spill kit / Inspections
- Hotwork Permit & Firewatch
- Backup Boilers
- Chilled Water Plant
- Nitrogen Purges
- Check Heat Trace Panel
- Cleaning Stations
- AED and SAFETY Shower PM's
- Plant Equipment monitoring for: Oil levels, Steam Leaks and Equipment checks to include vibration and reporting plant operational issues
- Responsible for monitoring all auxiliary buildings
- Responsible for monitoring and controlling river levels at Moore's Park Dam
- Other Duties as Assigned
