Job Title: Industrial Painter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team, specializing in the painting of truck-mounted concrete boom pumps. This position involves working on the afternoon shift and directing a small team of 2-3 people. The ideal candidate will have experience with sandblasting, industrial painting, and the maintenance of painting equipment.

Work Environment

The work environment is a heavy industrial manufacturing setting with a clean, spacious shop. We have the largest paint booth in the lower mainland, fully automated with lifts, so no ladders are required. Flexibility to assist in different departments is necessary as each day may bring different tasks. The work involves handling items such as brackets, toolboxes, and pipes. The afternoon shift runs from Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm to 1:30 am. Once permanent (after 800 hours), benefits include extended health care with an additional $1500 per year health spending account, dental care, RRSP matching program, life insurance, and an annual boot allowance.

Responsibilities

• Remove paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt from metal parts.

• Shovel or pour sand, grit, or other abrasive material into the machine, and monitor and maintain an adequate supply of the abrasive in the hopper.

• Prepare parts for the paint shop, clean motors, and chassis, and perform other general labor tasks.

• Maintain the sandblasting equipment, including cleaning and changing nozzles.

• Paint concrete pumps and parts.

• Read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings.

• Maintain tools and ensure a clean shop environment.

Essential Skills

• 2-5+ years of sandblasting experience.

• 2-5+ years of industrial paint experience.

• Knowledge of sandblasting equipment and paint equipment.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Leadership skills for directing a team.

• Ability to work on the afternoon shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00
