What you would do as our Technical Writer

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to develop clear and comprehensive documentation for our automatic door systems.

You will be part of a dynamic R&D technical documentation team and work with products related to our Business Segment Pedestrian (BSP). The main products include Sliding Doors, Swing Doors, Revolving Doors, and Security Entrance Control products. Our door automation solutions are machines serving millions of people in public areas; hence, we take pride in complying with several national and international safety standards without compromising on user experience, energy efficiency, sustainability, or security.

You would also:

  • Develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly manuals, installation guides, product specifications, and maintenance documents.

  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to gather insights and ensure that the documentation aligns with product functionalities and standards.

  • Create or collaborate on visuals, such as diagrams, images, and flowcharts, to complement written documentation.

  • Ensure that all documentation complies with relevant industry standards, safety protocols, and regulations.

  • Update and refine documentation to reflect changes, ensuring that users and support teams always have access to the latest information.

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who has a:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, ideally in a technical or engineering setting.

  • Strong writing and editing skills in American English, with an emphasis on clarity and precision.

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks Composer and Adobe Illustrator or similar for creating technical illustrations.

  • Experience with Component Content Management System (CCMS) tools.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented communicator with a strong ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences. This person excels at time management and organization, confidently balancing multiple projects with tight deadlines while independently prioritizing tasks. Collaboration is key in this role, requiring the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, including engineers and product managers, to develop clear, user-friendly documentation.

It is meritorious to have experience with CCMS tools like Quanos Schema ST4 and Skribenta, as well as familiarity with automatic door systems or similar mechanical systems. Proficiency with collaboration tools like Confluence, Teams, or Slack is also advantageous, as it facilitates effective teamwork across global teams. Additionally, certifications in technical writing, such as the Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC), are highly valued and underscore a commitment to excellence in the field.

Adaptability, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills round out the ideal profile, enabling the Technical Writer to thrive in our dynamic and collaborative environment.
