Provide dental care for individuals residing at WLRC including periodontal therapy and prophylactic dental services such as sealants, dental imaging, fluoride treatments, and providing appropriate support for the dentist during dental treatment.

• Professional educational duties include oral care instruction for employees and residents, development and in-service of oral hygiene care procedures, on-site advice, training, and problem identification/resolution.
• Administrative duties include maintaining appropriate documentation and charting of dental procedures.
• Determine which vendors to purchase dental supplies from.
• Maintain inventory to ensure WLRC has necessary dental supplies.
• Attend meetings and trainings as assigned.
• Serve on dental committees as needed.
• Complete dental assessments in conjunction with the dentist.
• Organize and coordinate dental procedures administered with the use of general anesthetic in the hospital setting.
• Maintain a recall system that meets the specific dental needs of the residents at WLRC.

• Dental hygiene services include prevention of dental disease.
• Treatment of diagnosed periodontal and gingival disease.
• Knowledge of preventative services to include placement of sealants, fluoride treatments, and dental prophylaxis.
• Knowledge of services to prevent oral disease.
• Knowledge of the overall operation implementation of the dental office.
• Knowledge and skill in both verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of computer use for treatment documentation, research, ordering, and communication with co-workers.
• Ability to work with and around WLRC residents, including those who may display challenging behaviors.
