JOB SUMMARY:
Penn State Health has an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to provide direct patient care in our Critical Care Unit at Lancaster Medical Center.
The Nurse Practitioner is credentialed and works independently and in collaboration with the attending physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to provide specialty care to critically ill patients.
The Nurse Practitioner provides in-house coverage, coordinating, providing, and managing the care of critically ill patients. Must be able to perform arterial lines, central lines/hemodialysis catheters, vent management, etc. This position includes weekends and rotating holidays.
An Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degree is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Master's Degree in a Critical Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program with a minimum of one year of CRNP experience (which could include clinical rotations or relevant clinical experience in applicable specialty) required and critical care experience as a staff nurse preferred.
Currently licensed to practice as a CRNP by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
National certification as an advanced practice nurse is required.
Must possess knowledge of appropriate critical care management, including ACLS and BLS Certification.
