The HVAC Estimator/Project Manager is responsible for reviewing prints and specifications to prepare precise estimates for both hard bid and negotiated projects, including breaking down estimates for job costing and obtaining necessary municipal approvals and permits. Key duties include preparing timely monthly invoices, reporting job progress and plan modifications, documenting and communicating change orders, and reviewing job costs-to-date. The role involves awarding subcontracts, purchasing materials, approving invoices, and providing essential documents and information to field personnel. Regular meetings with the Install Manager and collaboration with HVAC Supervisors are crucial for discussing job budgets, materials lead times, and resolving difficulties. Additionally, maintaining project files, handling warranty communications, managing unused materials, and keeping a list of qualified subcontractors are part of the job. The position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, good communication, and basic computer skills, with a minimum of two to five years of HVAC estimating experience. Ongoing education to enhance job performance is also encouraged. Two to five years minimum HVAC estimating experience.
