Description

Robert Half is in search of a Senior Buyer to become an integral part of our client's team. The position is based in the Lakewood, New Jersey area. The role will entail tasks such as inventory management, sales data analysis, and supplier negotiation.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the replenishment of store stocks to maintain optimal inventory levels

• Analyze sales data and predict future demand to guide purchasing decisions

• Coordinate with multiple internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of orders

• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the delivery process

• Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms

• Utilize various systems such as Skuvault, Shopify, and Gorgias for efficient task management

• Maintain a high level of performance during peak seasons, specifically August-October and February-April

• Assist in the accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications

• Maintain precise customer credit records for reference and future transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Senior Buyer or relevant role in procurement and supply chain management

• Proficient in using purchasing software and other related tools

• Demonstrable knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills

• Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

• Solid judgement along with decision making skills

• Strong ethical code and understanding of laws related to procurement and contracts

• Ability to work well within a team and foster positive relationships with suppliers

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
