Job Overview:
The Radiology Clerk position is responsible for administrative work such as clerical support for scheduling, reception and billing.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Preferred:
Prior clerical experience
Medical Terminology knowledge
Scheduling Requirements
3 days a week
8am - 4:30pm, no weekends
Essential Functions:
Answers phones, takes and relays messages in a professional manner.
Assists doctors and technologists as needed with reports and folders.
Checks scheduled appointments and ensures patients are given proper instructions.
Communicates with Doctors, Nurses, and other Medical Staff to ensure exceptional care of all patients.
Expedites radiology requests to ensure that patients receive their study in an orderly and timely fashion.
Greets patients in a professional and courteous manner upon their arrival to Radiology.
Maintain all aspect of patient files in file room and accurate departmental logs.
Prepares copies of x-rays and/or CD s for pick up according to department procedures.
Prepares file folder for next day exams.
Properly documents all exams according to department procedures utilizing IDX and x-ray jackets.
Rotate through all sub-departments within the Radiology Department.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
