The Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role supports clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support in either the Medical Assistant role or dedicated lab functions.
Responsibilities
Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision
Support clinician and care management teams in assessing and managing chronic diseases
Examine and treat patient population
Perform all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks
Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
Assess emergencies and act accordingly
Float from one location to another as patient queue demands
Essential Skills
Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices
Phlebotomy skills
Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly
Flexibility to float from one location to another

Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma required
2 years' experience within a clinic/back office healthcare setting
Medical Assistant diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years' Medical Assistant experience
Phlebotomy experience required
Ability to take vitals (manual vitals preferred)
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Active driver's license required
Flexibility to adjust to changing work environment
Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred
Experience with TriMed EMR preferred
Work Environment
100% onsite: Monday-Friday 7:45 am-5:00 pm AND every other Saturday 7:45 am-12:00 pm.
Floating from Boynton East and Boynton West, Wellington, and West Palm Beach clinics.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00
