Location: Lake Chicot State Park, Lake Village, AR

This position manages the park’s marina and bait shop. Duties include managing rental and maintenance of marina equipment, including flat bottom boats with outboard motors, canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats. Also includes assisting customers, providing information, and resolving complaints. Other duties include handling monetary transactions, managing a resale inventory, and making sure the facility is clean & well-kept. This position trains and supervises seasonal employees in facility operations and use of rental equipment. The marina manager assists with regular fishing reports for the public and maintains the fish cleaning station. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. This position will be required to work a varied schedule, including some weekends and holidays. A criminal background check is required.

Summary

The Facility Manager I is responsible for managing the operation of a revenue-producing facility such as general store, marina, or similar facility. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Functions

Inventories, orders, and receives supplies for the facility and maintains inventory control records. Prepares and completes business activity reports and balances cash receipts daily. Maintains business records, files, and books. Coordinates facility activities with other departments and the general public. Supervises and directs the activities of full and part-time employees and plans work schedule. Greets customers, explains services and prices, and makes special arrangements for customers upon request. Provides information and assistance to customers including collecting money and making change. Operates and maintains facility equipment, performs basic maintenance on facility, and arranges for major maintenance and repairs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of inventory control, purchasing and procurement procedures, and customer service. Knowledge of bookkeeping principles. Ability to assign and coordinate work activities and to monitor the performance of co-workers and/or subordinates. Ability to prepare reports and maintain records and files. Ability to greet customers, make sales, and balance cash receipts. Ability to clean and maintain work area and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus three years of experience in business, marketing, or a related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
