Job Purpose/Overview

The Environmental & Occupational Safety Program Sr. Manager plays an essential role in upholding Antech’s commitment to the environment in which we operate. By spearheading the development and management of environmental and occupational safety programs, this role ensures compliance with regulatory standards while proactively identifying and mitigating risk across all facets of our operations. Through strategic leadership and collaborative partnerships, the Sr. Program Manager fosters a culture of safety, ultimately safeguarding our people, our communities, and the sustainability of our business throughout North America.

  • Lives and exemplifies the Five Principles within self.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive environmental and occupational safety program in the United States and Canada.

  • Has a working knowledge of state specific and provincial EHS and OSH programs and can effectively guide leaders to exceed the minimum requirements for operation by inspiring a connection with the Mars Principle of Sustainability and the Associate Concept.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation measures to proactively address safety concerns.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to create and operationalize effective environmental, health, and safety EHS initiatives.

  • Provide worksite (hub, lab, and other) level support as needed to build, execute, and maintain the EHS program & initiatives

  • Collaborate closely with key internal departments such as Legal, Associate relations, Operations, Business Partners, Talent and Learning, and Quality Assurance to ensure alignment and support for EHS objectives.

  • Build strong working relationships with other internal departments: Legal, Associate Relations, Operations, Business partners, Talent and Learning, Quality Assurance, and others…

  • Establish and maintain record-keeping practices to track safety incidents, inspections, training, and compliance documentation.

  • Lead investigations into workplace and environmental safety incidents, violations, and inquiries, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and timely resolution.

  • Provide regular updates and communicate effectively with the senior leadership team, People & Organization, and other teams, within Antech.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar credentials are highly desirable.

  • Master’s degree in environmental health safety and/or Occupational Health and Safety is highly preferred.

  • 5+ years of related experience in program management in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety if certified as a CSP or CIH or carries a master’s degree.

  • Candidates without certification or a master’s degree should have 7+ years of experience in program management in EHS.

  • Experience building a compliance program in EHS and OSH from the ground up.

  • Regulatory knowledge across the North American region (US + Canada)

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients and management is required.

  • The ability to potentially work remotely with minimal supervision.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Fluency in the English language required.

  • Fluency in French language is desirable.

Travel

  • Percent of time: Approximately 30-50%

Working Conditions

  • The associate is regularly required to apply manual dexterity, including hand/wrist flexibility, for computer keyboarding.

  • The associate frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Fluency in the English language and the ability to communicate via the telephone and in person.

  • The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch.

  • The associate will primarily work in a typical office environment including the use of cubicles, computers, and overhead lighting.

  • Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent.

  • Some work with OSHA approved vented hoods in the laboratory with formalin fixed and fresh tissue specimens.

  • Frequent use of personal protective equipment will be necessary to complete job duties.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • The associate may be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, database management, email, and the internet.

The Target Pay Range for this position is $130,180-162,725 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
