The Bond Processing Service Specialist works to execute and process bond business transactions. The primary duties of this role is to set up and maintain submission, surety, account, and agency files and establish appropriate file documentation. The Specialist provides service support to assist both regional and home office counterparts in production and maintenance of surety business.

Responsibilities:

  • Use surety systems to process new business, endorsement, and renewal transactions.

  • Work with internal teams on billing issues, cancellations, etc.

  • Monitor work inventories and queues.

  • Distribute work according to level of authority / line of business.

  • Set up files for hand off to underwriting teams.

  • Monitor work queues and sets up electronic files.

  • Maintain surety account electronic files.

  • Assist agents to service surety business.

  • Follow up with underwriters and underwriting assistants on surety submissions.

  • Complete necessary documentation/requests for agency service and setup.

  • Cultivate customer and producer relationships to promote surety products and services.

Work Arrangements: This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrang ement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (San Antonio, TX or Lake Mary, FL) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week ( Tuesday through Thursday ). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of business experience, preferably in an insurance or financial services environment.

  • Surety bond experience preferred.

  • Ability to learn internal systems and deliver on transactions with a high level of accuracy.

  • Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Office.

  • Must have solid organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

  • Excellent business communication skills verbal and written with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively interact with internal team members and external business partners such as a representative from an agent or broker's office.

  • Self-motivated to consistently deliver prescribed services and meet deadlines.

  • Flexible with the ability to perform as part of a team.

  • Training or experience in administrative functions or customer service.

  • For full-time, occasional, or remote positions: (1) high speed broadband internet service is required, we do not recommend or support DSL, wireless, Wifi, Hotspots, Fiber without a modem and Satellite; (2) Internet provider supplied modem/router/gateway is hardwired to the Hartford issued computer with an ethernet cable; and (3) minimum upload/download speeds of 75MB download/10MB upload will be required. Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$40,685 - $61,027
