Molecular Epidemiology Inc. is now accepting applications for a Laboratory Purchasing Assistant at its facility in Seattle, WA. Ideal candidates will possess the following: - An AA or AS degree in biological sciences (required); A BS or BA in the biological sciences or related field (preferred) - Prior purchasing experience in scientific field (preferred) - Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel - Professional, reliable, and able to work well with others - Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Understanding lab operations (including understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory) and familiarity with lab tools and supplies - Knowledge of buying and ordering process Laboratory Purchasing Assistant's duties include but are not limited to: submitting purchase orders for various locations, sourcing from domestic and international vendors, monitoring purchase orders and communicate status to relevant parties, identifying new vendors, and other duties as assigned. The pay range for this position is $22 - $23 hourly. This is a full-time position that is eligible for the following benefits after a brief waiting period: medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, 401(k), health and dependent care FSA plans, employee assistance program, 15 days of paid time off per year for sick leave and/or vacation, 3 days paid bereavement leave, and 6 paid holidays per year.
