Our team in Lake Forest, IL has an opening for a Financial Reporting Manager. This role will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of monthly/quarterly global consolidated financial results for ARDx.

The ARDx DHQ Accounting Manager is a critical role in the delivery of monthly/quarterly global consolidated financial results for ARDx. This role reports to the Senior Director, Accounting and Reporting and is responsible for division headquarters accounting and ARDx global reporting of the monthly and quarterly consolidated financial results. ARDx utilizes Abbott’s HFM financial consolidation system and the ARDx SAP system and this position is instrumental in ensuring accurate and timely submissions of actuals to Abbott Corporate. In addition, this role is heavily involved in further integrating Alere into the Abbott systems and processes. To succeed in this position, the candidate should be well-organized and possess strong leadership, analytical, communication, financial systems, and excel skills. This role is based in Lake Forest, IL and supervises direct and indirect staff in Lake Forest, IL and in Manila, Philippines.

In addition to formal financial processes, this individual will be responsible for providing accounting support and guidance, ad-hoc requests and will interact with finance professionals across all business units, organizations, and senior management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Ensure that Corporate and Divisional deadlines are met for Actuals reporting, and that the Division’s financial statements are accurately stated.

  • Responsible for accounting, reporting, and managing the close process each month for 20 ARDx Headquarter affiliates, including US and OUS operating and holding entities.

  • Consolidation of the total ARDx Income Statement and Balance Sheet commentary. Coordination between ARDx FP&A, Abbott’s Corporate Financial Service, ARDx’s Global Business Services and other operating entities to ensure effective month-end close and related reporting to Divisional Management and Corporate.

  • Instruct ARDx finance teams on reporting requirements, including quarterly and year end packages that require supplemental data by entity (examples such as AR aging, contractual obligations, reserves, prepaids, accruals, pensions, leases).

  • Align with ARDx entities and coordinate with Abbott Corporate Financial Reporting on specific reporting requirements.

  • Coordinate internal and external audit and Corporate Tax requests.

  • Responsible for statutory audit reporting for 3 ARDx headquarter affiliates.

  • Assist in integrating ARDx into existing Abbott systems and processes.

  • Work with ARDx finance management to evaluate current processes and propose improvements.

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information through preparation of reports, general ledger entries and other financial transactions.

  • Assist and support in the assessment of impact of business change initiatives.

  • Troubleshoot and laisse with entities and Business Units on any inconsistencies, tie-out issues, reporting questions, reporting changes.

  • Complete ad-hoc requests and projects as required

The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Accounting/Finance, Business, or Economics.

  • 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced work environment with frequent deadlines.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

  • Previous experience working with large amounts of data and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Solid accounting knowledge and strong technical systems skills with SAP and Hyperion preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of internal clients, including domestic and international entities within ARDx, CFS, and Divisional Sr. Management.

  • Flexible and well-organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Reasoning - Ability to solve problems with complex variables through non-standardized solutions that require independent judgment and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and use deductive reasoning with no prescribed procedures to solve complex problems.

  • Able to work under pressure, consistently meet deadlines and direct activities on several projects at one time.

  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills and the capability to conduct complex data analysis.

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
