Contract Administrator - C(Procurement Specialist)

12-month contract with high possibility of extension

Pay rate: $32/hr.

Job description:

The Procurement Specialist (Contract Administrator) serves as the vital interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders. Based in Lake Forest, IL, this role plays a pivotal function in managing Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, and RFXs to support supplier identification and selection. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with suppliers and internal customers to identify cost-saving opportunities. The incumbent acts as a crucial link between site procurement teams, divisional category procurement organizations, and corporate procurement category managers.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.

Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels through innovative initiatives.

Serve as the primary point of contact for buyers, end users, and suppliers, fostering strong business relationships.

Develop and nurture business relationships with suppliers to uphold Abbott's reputation while ensuring competitive pricing.

Lead resolution efforts on issues and invoice errors, including managing PO change requests and communicating change trends.

Actively resolve complaints and disputes among requestors, purchasing, receiving, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or Financial fields.

2-4 years of procurement experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive experience negotiating and drafting contracts, statements of work, and confidentiality agreements using corporate contract templates.

Strong track record in identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Familiarity with SAP Ariba and/or Coupa procurement platforms.

Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.

CPM certification is desirable.

Proficiency in contracting, negotiations, and supplier relationship management.

Ability to identify problems, analyze root causes, and develop and present effective solutions.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in spreadsheet programs.
