Mechanical Engineering Intern- (2 positions available) Lake Forest

Panasonic Avionics Corporation seeks motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our growing DevOps Engineering team in our Irvine, CA, office. This paid internship will start in June and continue through August 2025, with an opportunity to potentially continue through the school year.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26- $38. The final offer amount may vary and is based on the candidates' year in school. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Start by understanding CAD document release process by reviewing ECR's and generating CAD model changes to update associated drawings to implement change by releasing final ECO through Agile. Once competent in CAD change requirements be mentored by senior level 3 engineer in completing simple program deliverable like wall mount shroud or keyboard installation assembly and all associated engineering deliverables including interfacing with certification, manufacturing engineering and quality.

  • Learn first-hand what it takes to design, certify and deliver parts and assemblies to aircraft for installation under STC process. Driving a complete design from beginning to end in an accelerated environment while meeting defined regulatory and corporate requirements.

  • Deliver a high-quality product on-time, meeting customer expectations.

Qualifications

  • Junior or senior level undergraduate in mechanical or aeronautical engineering with some electrical design knowledge.

  • Analytical skills, Strong communication skills with technical writing aptitude.

  • Test and measurement skills with strong analytical capability. Some CAD knowledge required but not program specific as we will teach our CAD process.

  • Must be enrolled in school at the time of the internship

  • Must be able to be onsite at Lake Forest, CA
