Title: Finance Director, Regional Controller- USA

Reporting to: VP Finance Americas

Location: Lake Forest, California (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

Summary: As the Director, Regional Controller reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance for the Americas, you will oversee all accounting operations and processes for our US legal entities. Through your leadership of the team, you will drive excellence in financial reporting and ensure all deadlines are met with precision. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the financial strategy of our US software business, contributing directly to our continued success in the industrial software sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the accounting operations and processes for US Legal entities

  • Act as the Finance Controller. Control costs in your entity and own the full trial balance (balance sheet and income statements, etc.). Assist with cash flow forecast.

  • Manage the activities of the accounting group and coordinate with the financial planning team members for a consolidated unit of approx. $1B per annum external sales.

  • Support the revenue processes for IFRS 15 and ASC 606 in conjunction with the various business lines.

  • Lead month end, quarter end and year end accounting cycles.

  • Create, review and approve recommendations for planning and control, providing relevant information to the various customers and executive management team

  • Drive adherence to group policies and procedures while identifying areas of improvement and driving change

  • Manage the reporting cycle and deliverables.

  • Build and lead effective collaboration across various accounting functions (i.e. payroll accounting, tax support, etc.) and display an ability to work across other teams to achieve our goals

  • Review, analyze and control costs – both direct and indirect for the US entity

  • Own the relationship and activity with internal and external auditors.

  • Coordinate and work with the Group Controller and Group Chief Accounting officer.

  • Provide leadership on the banking activities.

  • Ensure full trial balance reconciliation between the ledger, BI tools and the HFM reporting tools.

  • Write accounting papers related to current topics or needs

  • Manage accounting team members for thorough close process.

  • Manage relationship with outsource back office support team in various time zones. Example: Shared service center for Invoice to Cash, Purchase to Pay and Record to reporting functions, Treasury department, Controls team

  • Assists teams in building and/or optimizing data and process flows, ultimately enhancing and implementing SOX-like controls across the end-to-end business processes from data sources through disclosures

  • Regularly assess talent pipeline and provide mentorship to the team to create a high performing team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and success.

  • Direct working knowledge of accounting regulations, particularly IFRS 15 and/or ASC 606.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or similar professional designation.

  • Strong business acumen with experience in the Software industry.

  • Experience with a Big 4 Accounting firm is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in one or more ERP systems (preferably Oracle) and Financial Tools (preferably Hyperion).

  • Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, MS Project, etc.).

  • Ability to think strategically on a global scale.

  • Experience supporting the consolidation of business processes to enhance financial data accuracy.

  • Ability to manage the Delegation of Authority process and other financial responsibilities for US entities.

Salary Range:

$169,300.00 - $282,300.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
