Job Summary: Responsible for meeting customer needs by:Layout, wiring, and mounting of custom truck bodies on trucksSetting up and operating machines that will cut, bend, saw, punch steelinto custom parts needed for body mountingCompleting mechanics work such as working with hydraulics andmounting PTO (power take offs) and pumpsMaintaining a clean work environmentOther duties as assignedTools Used: Overhead chain hoists, forklift trucks, handcarts, all types of hand/air tools,business operating system, etc.Safety Equipment: Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal guards, ear plugs, gloves,aprons, safety props, grinding shields, welding sleeves, etc.Environment: Heavy industrial atmosphere including exposure to grease, oil, heat,humidity, occasionally cramped quarters, and possibly wet conditionsJob Requirements:1. Must know basic math to set up and operate machines accurately, measure and problem solve.2. Must have experience operating a hand plasma and wire feed welding. Ability to pass weld testpreferred.3. Ability to manually move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular heavy physical exertion,including but not limited to lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and bending. Using the overhead hoistsrequires ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs.4. Ability to stand and work on concrete for several hours at a time. Ability to work in a variety ofpositions, including kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, turning and climbing.5. Ability to read job specifications to determine material layouts, machine adjustments, complicatedinstructions, blueprints and measuring devices. Ability to perform basic computer data entry.6. Basic understanding of hydraulics, PTO, frames, pumps, electrical controls and wiring.7. Able to work in a team environment to identify and determine effective counter measures, attend andparticipate in required company meetings.8. Ability to attain and maintain production efficiencies and quality standards.9. Must work in a safe manner, including following safety procedures, including wearing personalprotection equipment noted above, completing maintenance requests, and communicating hazards toco-workers and management.10. Must be a team player that works with other departments or facilities to meet company goals.11. Must be detail orientated, energetic and goal driven.12. Must embrace the lean tools and apply them for measurable results.13.
