Arlington Central School District Bus Monitor 24-25 #2 in LaGrangeville, New York
The Arlington Central School District is currently looking to hire Bus Monitors for the start of the 2024/2025 school year. This position involves responsibility for the routine supervision and care of school-age children as well as the maintenance of order and discipline in a school vehicle.
Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:
Maintaining order on and around school buses;
Intervenes in confrontations and student fights if necessary, attempt to calm students;
May escort students to and from special appointments;
Monitors students in parking lots and supervise the loading of buses;
May assist in rendering of first aid emergencies;
Informs superiors of observations of student behavior;
Related work as required.
Job Qualifications
Must be able to pass the required NYS Education Department Physical Performance Test, which includes many standards including dragging a 125 lb. bag 30 feet in 30 seconds.
Able to get along well with school-aged children
Good observation, tact, good judgment and courtesy
