RemArms, LLC Master (Engineering) Technician in Lagrange, Georgia

TheMaster Technicianis a member of the Engineering department. This position performs a range of tasks of a technical, scientific, or physical nature in an engineering and manufacturing environment utilizing advanced tools and methods.

2nd Shift Schedule:Mon-Thur 5:00 pm-3:30 am

(RemArms, LLC reserves the right to make changes to the shift schedule)

FLSA Status : Salary Non-Exempt-this position is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per week

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)

  • Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes - may therefore train others. Understanding enables suggestions for improvements to methods to improve quality and performance. Competent in CAD modeling, drawing generation, and managing more complex Exp runs on the Production floor.
  • Tool Usage: Capable of performing more advanced, difficult tasks requiring a deeper understanding of applicable tools and methods across several disciplines. Capable of utilizing CAD (position-specific) and other software packages as needed. Can create enhanced tools/methods as necessary.
  • Indicators: Able to suggest enhancements to safety and working standards in manufacturing. Capable of doing process optimization of ex runs. May run processes on the manufacturing floor. Tool, jig, component design, and machining. Able to optimize time management for maximum efficiency. Capable of building prototypes.
  • Scope of Responsibility: Ability to review a print and provide suggestions/recommendations on how to execute in the most efficient manner. Capable of performing multiple manufacturing processes or test operations: scope often defined by work instructions and engineering/manufacturing directives. Addresses non-routine problems. Assignments are given with general work instructions; may plan daily workload but work is prioritized elsewhere. Work is often subject to established routines.
  • Leadership: Has strong work ethic, respects the time of others, is prompt, role models for safe working conditions, and maintains a clean workplace. Look for ways to continuously improve tools and processes within his/her responsibility. Look for ways to improve the team and make those around him/her better. Let's others know the significance of issues and set appropriate expectations.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Capable of maintaining detailed records in written form or databases. Engages in oral and written knowledge transfer when required, technical reports, and findings. Observant and capable of communicating unusual observations (good and bad) to program managers and engineers.
  • Behaviors: Completes tasks on time with high quality. Can be depended on to participate in teams and deliver results. Demonstrates ability to lead by example and teach methods to newer technicians. Extremely dependable in delivering what is promised by fostering teamwork. Displays a bias for action and performance in the work area.
  • Level of Review: May have little day-to-day supervision. Tasks are reviewed daily or at project milestones as needed by engineering/manufacturing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, explosives, and vibration. The noise level in the work environmen can be loud. Personal protective equipment to limit exposure to these environments will be provided.

Qualifications, Educational Skills and Experience To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or ExperienceHS diploma with 5 to 10 years experience or Associates degree with 3 - 5 years experience in a related field or set of operations. Comfortable with hands-on operations of manufacturing and processing equipment. Firearms and ammunition experience are a plus.

Language SkillsAbility to read work and interpret instructions in English. Ability to record observations and keep records of data as instructed.

Mathematical SkillsAbility to perform general mathematical operations and simple data manipulations as instructed.

Other Skills and AbilitiesMust be proficient with CAD/CAM. Proficiency with CMM is a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite necessary.
