Emerson Key Account Manager-Nigeria in Lagos, Nigeria

Job Title: Key Account Manager

Job Summary:

The role will have a strong focus on further developing new business and growing of Key Accounts within NNPCL JVs and IOCs by optimally positioning our products and services offerings. There will also be a strategic focus in maintaining account collaborations in existing customers.

This role would be based in our Lagos, Nigeria office with lots of travels both within and outside Nigeria.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify new and effectively engage with existing customers and opportunities by promoting outstanding product features and deploying the best sales practices.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer’s business, their needs and language while actively applying suitable products and solutions to address these goals.

  • Effectively build account relationships to become the trusted advisor within selected accounts and become their trusted advisor for all Emerson portfolios.

  • Increase the Emerson market share by a targeted competitor displacement across the portfolio and strategically position the Emerson portfolio to be considered on larger projects.

  • Liaise with internal and external sales teams in product and application knowledge sharing, planning and execution activities to continuously improve the customer service levels.

  • Develop strategic account plans for assigned accounts to dive customer dedication and engagement.

  • Practice a ‘Think Customer’ attitude and culture in all aspects of the role.

  • Provide regular forecasts and lead account expectations updating the ongoing business planning tools including CRM, POR, Quarterly, Mid-Year and Yearly Budget Reviews.

  • Work closely with the business unit sales and marketing teams to better understand how to position Emerson portfolio effectively in the marketplace.

  • Develop a true business partnership with IOCs, NOC, independent oil companies, government regulatory bodies such as NUPRC, NMDPRA, NUIMS, NCDMB, NIPEX, etc.

  • Any other strategic duties deem vital by the leadership team.

For this role, you will need:

  • An Engineering/Science degree or equivalent.

  • Extensive experience within Oil & Gas industry in West Africa sub-region.

  • Proven track record of direct selling in a B2B environment.

  • Experience in developing long term relationships with external customers.

  • A consultative approach to selling.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred qualifications that set you apart:

  • Process automation proven experience.

  • Ability to develop successful cross functional relationships internally, within a matrix organization.
